Visited in August for my birthday celebration and after looking up the menu online I was excited. We decided on the tasting menu as I want to be surprised and maybe try things I would otherwise order. Every dish was balanced well and the highlights for me were the steak tartare and the luá dessert. The service was friendly and attentive and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like fine dining at a reasonable price. Every year for my birthday we try somewhere new and special this was by far one of the best and we will be back. Thank you for a great experience

Dining at Claire Hutchins’ (MasterChef: The Professionals Finalist) restaurant was an experience not to be missed. The Strat Restaurant, perfectly positioned in Finestrat just steps from the beach, delivers more than just a meal — it’s a culinary journey. The afternoon set menu was a masterclass in flavour, beautifully balanced and paired with wines that elevated every bite. As the final plates were cleared, we had the pleasure of meeting Claire herself. Warm, engaging, and full of passion for her craft, she made the experience feel truly personal. We were so impressed that before leaving, we booked again for the very next evening to indulge in the evening tasting menu. If tomorrow’s meal is anything like today’s… we’re in for another unforgettable treat. The service was amazing too.

We stayed at Hotel La Cala Finestrat, perfectly located right on the beach just 15 minutes outside of Benidorm, to celebrate my 40th birthday with family. The hotel itself is wonderful, with stunning sea views and direct access to the beach. Starting each morning with coffee and breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the waves and watching the beach come to life, was an unforgettable experience. For my birthday dinner, we chose Restaurant Strat, which is part of the hotel, and it was exceptional from start to finish. The food and service were outstanding. We began with smoked butter and homemade sourdough, followed by oysters and a series of beautifully crafted snacks. Every dish impressed us, but a few stood out: a refreshing tomato salad with tomato consommé, melt-in-the-mouth lamb belly with a curried sauce, and a piece of tuna that was, without doubt, the best fish I’ve ever eaten. The entire evening was perfect – excellent food, impeccable service, and breathtaking sea views as the backdrop. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Currently on vacation with my wife, we booked a table for the seasonal menu. Sitting on the terrace, the view is amazing. Every dish was delicious and more than generous in portion size for fine dining. The service was impeccable as well. A great experience that I can only recommend. Congratulations to the team!

The tasting menu, what an incredible menu! We ate here for our 1st Wedding Anniversary & it did not disappoint. I don’t think I’ve eaten food more flavoursome anywhere in the world (& I travel for a living!) It was an explosion of flavour so delicious I wanted to savour every mouthful & make it last for as long as possible! The presentation was incredible & the way the lemon desert really looked like a lemon was amazing. I think I’ll be telling people about that for a long time. Our waitress was full of knowledge about the food she was delivering & really had a passion for service. She was fantastic & matched the venue vibe really well, describing every dish we had with such detail. Fantastic experience as a whole, can’t wait until next year to return!
